The Indian School of Public Policy (ISPP) is currently seeking a Senior Finance Manager to oversee its financial operations, reporting, and compliance functions. This role is pivotal in ensuring the organization’s financial sustainability while adhering to the regulatory requirements governing Section 8 companies in India.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Strategy & Planning: Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the organization’s long-term goals. Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Financial Reporting & Compliance: Prepare accurate financial statements and reports, ensuring compliance with Indian accounting standards and Section 8 regulations. Oversee statutory audits and ensure timely filing of financial statements with regulatory bodies.
- Internal Controls & Risk Management: Develop and implement robust internal control systems to safeguard the organization’s assets. Manage financial risks, identify potential concerns, and implement corrective measures.
- Cash Flow Management: Oversee cash flow management to ensure liquidity for operational and strategic needs. Manage banking relationships and optimize investment of surplus funds in accordance with legal restrictions on Section 8 companies.
- Taxation & Legal Compliance: Oversee all tax-related matters, including direct and indirect taxes (e.g., GST, TDS), and ensure compliance with charitable tax exemptions. Liaise with external auditors, legal counsel, and regulatory authorities to address financial and compliance issues.
- Fund Management & Grants: Manage funds and grants from various donors, ensuring proper accounting and reporting. Track and report on the utilization of grants and funds, ensuring transparency.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, ensuring high performance and professional development. Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support for decision-making.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Chartered Accountant (ICAI) or Cost Accountant (ICMAI) certification.
- Minimum of 10-12 years of experience, with at least 3-4 years in a senior leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations related to Section 8 companies and non-profit financial reporting.
Skills:
